Petrochemical Industry

The petrochemical industry in Lianyungang has formed a pattern of common development of petrochemicals, organic raw materials and synthetic materials. It is the largest production base of chemical raw materials in East China, and is a key area supported by Jiangsu provincial government for the layout of the petrochemical industry. Fine industrial chains including crude oil-aromatic hydrocarbons/olefins-PTA/ Ethylene glycol-polyester new materials, propylene-acrylonitrile-carbon fiber have formed. An energy structure of "coal, gas, and oil" which can complement each other has been established. There are four chemical park concentration areas including Guanyun County Port Industrial Zone Chemical Industrial Park, Jiangsu Lianyungang Chemical Industrial Park, Zhewang Port Industrial Zone Chemical Industrial Park, and Lianyungang Petrochemical Industrial Base. Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base is the key area of Jiangsu province's "1+N" chemical industry layout. Its planned industrial scale is 40 million tons of oil refining, 7 million tons of aromatics, and 6 million tons of ethylene.
