Lianyungang has built six production and R&D bases for anti-tumor drugs, anti-hepatitis drugs, drugs for anesthesia and surgery, new Traditional Chinese medicines, new pharmaceutical packaging materials, medical disinfection and sterilization equipment. These bases formed 8 production groups, including chemical raw materials, chemical preparations, traditional Chinese medicines, biological drugs, hygienic materials and medical supplies, medical devices, pharmaceutical packaging materials and traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces processing. Lianyungang has established a domestic leading and international innovative R&D system, with R & D investment accounting for 14% of sales, much higher than other key pharmaceutical cities in China.
