Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Releases Top 100 Chinese Pharmaceutical Industry in 2019 Enterprises in Lianyungang City First Enter Top 10 List

On August 30, 2020, (The 37th) National Pharmaceutical Industry Information Annual Conference, sponsored by China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, opened in Zhuhai. The conference released the top 100 list of China's pharmaceutical industry in 2019 which attracted much attention from the industry. Hengrui Medicine, Chiatai Tianqing, Hansoh Pharmaceutical and Kanion Pharmaceutical were all in the list, ranking 10th, 16th, 32nd and 41st respectively. Among them, Hengrui Medicine became the first top ten enterprises in our city. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology said that as an important list of the pharmaceutical industry, enterprises of our city were selected into the top 10 for the first time, indicating that the leading pharmaceutical enterprises in our city have realized the rapid growth of their sales performance with the help of scientific and technological innovation.

It is learned that the "Annual Top 100 Pharmaceutical Enterprises in China" sponsored by the China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is the most authoritative and social influential professional selection in China's pharmaceutical industry. The selection is based on national statistical data, combined with the index of new drug innovation, rational layout, development potential, market focus, etc., and based on the corporate units of industrial enterprises, which represents high authority and guidance in the industry. On the whole, the total scale of China's top 100 pharmaceutical industries in 2019 is as high as 929.64 billion yuan, reaching a new high. The overall growth rate is 10.7%, and the overall revenue continues to grow at a double-digit annual rate. The main business income concentration of the top 100 enterprises in the list reached 35.6%. The entry threshold of top 100 enterprises increased from 2.61 billion yuan in 2018 to 2.86 billion yuan. Guo Wen, director of China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, said that the top 100 list of China's pharmaceutical industry can stimulate enterprises' innovation power, drive more enterprises to transform and upgrade and promote the high-quality development of China's pharmaceutical industry.

In 2019, there are 44 pharmaceutical enterprises above designated size in our city, including 37 pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises, with an output value of 58.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.8%; and 7 medical equipment and device manufacturing enterprises, with an output value of 660 million yuan. At present, our city has formed an industrial layout with the new pharmaceutical industrial park of the Municipal Development Zone as the core, Dapu API plate, Haizhou new medicine and medical device plate, Guanyun API plate, and Donghai County Chinese herbal medicine planting plate. A number of pharmaceutical enterprises such as Hengrui Medicine, Chiatai Tianqing, Hansoh Pharmaceutical and Kanion Pharmaceutical have continuously broken the record of pharmaceutical industry. In 2019, Hengrui Medicine and China Biopharmaceutical, a holding pharmaceutical enterprise with Chiatai Tianqing as the core, entered the list of top 50 global pharmaceutical enterprises in 2019 published by PharmExec (American Pharmaceutical Executive) and became the first Chinese enterprise on the list.

The annual meeting also announced the list of "the Best Industrial Enterprises of China's Pharmaceutical R & D Product Line in 2020". Hengrui Medicine, Hansoh Pharmaceutical, Chiatai Tianqing and Kanion Pharmaceutical were among the top ten enterprises again, ranking first, second, fourth and eighth respectively. The list was selected by China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, China Pharmaceutical Industry Research Institute and Shanghai Pharmaceutical Industry Research Institute based on innovation dimension, development dimension, leading dimension and scale dimension from drug and enterprise level. Our city has been on the list for many years, and the number of selected enterprises has been in the forefront of prefecture level cities in China for a long time.
