On March 5th, the forty-day 2024 Spring Festival travel rush ended successfully, and the overall passenger and freight transportation in our city was safe and stable. According to the statistics of the Municipal Spring Festival Transportation Office, the total number of transportation passengers in the city is 3.7246 million. From the passengers¡¯ mode of transport, railway, road and civil aviation respectively account for 57.4%, 38.7%, and 3.9% of the transportation volume.

Increasing transportation capacity is crucial to ensure that passengers can travel smoothly, safely and satisfactorily. This year, China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group's capacity adjustment has shifted from periodic rectifications to on-demand ones. The pre-sale and standby ticket purchases are continuously monitored. The timing of scheduled passenger trains and temporary passenger train launches as needed is ed. Transportation capacity is allocated in echelons, and the travel needs of passengers are met. Our city has repeatedly added passenger services to and from the Yangtze River Delta region, Shandong, Anhui and other places, and the "red-eye train" is no longer uncommon. Bus stations analyzed passenger flow completely, adjusted transportation capacity allocation reasonably, and guaranteed orderly passenger travel. According to statistics, during the Spring Festival travel rush period, a total of 1.35 million passengers were transported through railways and a total of 910000 passengers travelled through road transportation.

Overall, the number of passengers during Spring Festival travel rush this year has significantly increased compared to the same period in 2019, due to a combination of favorable factors such as the recovery of the tourism market, the extension of the Spring Festival holiday, the attraction of new routes, and people¡¯s increased willingness to travel. Since the Spring Festival travel rush, the overall daily passenger volume, delivery volume and arrival volume of transportation in the city has shown a fluctuating trend, with the peak appearing on February 14th, the fifth day of the Lunar New Year; the lowest point appeared on March 5th, the last day of the Spring Festival travel rush. During the Spring Festival, the flows of family visits, tourism, migrant workers, and returning passengers were intertwined and overlapped, and the passenger volume remained at a high level. The overall passenger flow showed a trend of "four peaks and three troughs". Taking the Spring Festival and New Year's Eve as the time division point, the "Four Peaks" consist of two parts. One is two return home passenger flow peaks before the festival, which are on the 24th of the 12th lunar month, i.e. February 3rd, and the 28th of the 12th lunar month, i.e. February 7th; the other is two return passenger flow peaks after the holiday, which are February 14th on the fifth day of the first lunar month and February 25th on the sixteenth day of the first lunar month. The three troughs are on February 4th, the 25th day of the twelfth lunar month, February 9th on New Year's Eve, and February 22nd, the 13th day of the first lunar month. The main reason for this was the low willingness of the public to travel due to weather conditions.

A true hero is the one who confronts ice, snow and rain. The more difficult it is, the more forward he/she moves. From February 4th to 5th and February 21st to 23rd, our city was affected by two rounds of low temperature, rain, snow and freezing weather. Cadres and workers on various fronts during the Spring Festival travel rush were acting quickly to remove snow and ice on receiving the order, minimize the impact on transportation order, and fully protect the safety and smoothness of transportation routes. In order to create a "heart-warming Spring Festival travel", our city also organized activities such as "the Laba porridge at Leifeng Station to warm passengers' way home", "Couplets Writing to welcome the New Year, warm greetings to passengers", and "guessing lantern riddles and tasting Tangyuan to celebrate the Lantern Festival" during the Spring Festival travel, so that every passenger can smile with satisfaction during the travel, making the Spring Festival travel full of humanity and warmth.

In order to ensure smooth Spring Festival travel, the city's public security and traffic police, traffic law enforcement and highway departments have jointly strengthened road network monitoring and scheduling, and timely released road condition information through various means to guide the public to choose reasonable driving routes. A series of Work such as increasing frontline duty dispatch personnel, doing a good job in on-site traffic guidance, remote diversion and road safety management has been done during peak hours, and there have been no large-scale and long-term traffic congestion or major traffic accidents in the city. Law enforcement agencies increase their supervision of the transportation market, crack down severely on "unlicensed vehicles", overloading of vehicles and ships, and dumping or overcharging of passengers, in order to maintain order in the transportation market. Material transportation services are continuously provided to ensure efficient and smooth operation of material allocation, transportation and circulation, and fast and convenient passage of agricultural production material transportation vehicles is prioritized.
