Norov Vladimir Imamovich was Awarded Title of "Honorary Citizen of Lianyungang City"

On the afternoon of the 17th, our city held a ceremony to award "Honorary Citizen of Lianyungang City" to Norov Vladimir Imamovich, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

The mayor of Lianyungang noted that the active implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiative in Lianyungang has further enhanced mutual trust and cooperation with all countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”, especially with SCO countries, and win-win outcome has been achieved. Lianyungang has taken a solid step in building itself into a strong fulcrum of the “Belt and Road”. This is inseparable from the extensive support of the international community and the great concern of the SCO Secretariat, especially the positive guidance and help from Secretary General Norov. Our city solemnly held the award ceremony of "Honorary Citizen of Lianyungang City" to thank Mr. Norov for his outstanding contribution to the cause of foreign cooperation and exchange of Lianyungang. We believe that with the concern and support of Mr. Norov as always exchanges between our city and the SCO Secretariat will be more in-depth. The cooperation with SCO countries will be more fruitful. Our city's friendly exchanges with foreign countries and the strong fulcrum construction of “Belt and Road” will continue to take a new step.

Norov first expressed his thanks to Lianyungang City for granting the honor. Lianyungang is a famous tourist city with a long history and abundant culture. As the intersection of the “Belt and Road”, it is also the nearest sea base for Central Asian countries, he said. The SCO Secretariat and Lianyungang have a good foundation for cooperation. It is believed that with the reopening of the SCO International Round-table Conference, the SCO Secretariat and the SCO countries will carry out deeper cooperation with Lianyungang and achieve more fruitful results. The SCO Secretariat is willing to actively promote the SCO and relevant countries to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Lianyungang and constantly improve the level of multilateral cooperation.
