Lianyungang Port's Throughput of First Nine Months Reached 230 Million Tons

Being fundamental and hub facilities, ports are important support for economic development and even the "barometer" of economic development. Since the beginning of this year, Lianyungang Port has shown numerous production highlights, with a total cargo throughput of 230 million tons completed from January to September, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%; the container transportation volume reached 4.41 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%.

In September, the whole port staff worked together to overcome difficulties, actively overcoming adverse factors such as declining supply markets, tight venues and bad weather. The monthly billing throughput and container volume achieved significant growth year-on-year. Improving the efficiency of production organization has always been the top priority. The port continues to optimize port business cooperation, strengthen production efficiency assessment and improve the unloading capacity of bulk cargo. Ganyu Dockland once again berths a 100000 ton iron ore carrier, and Dongfang Company sets a new record for coal unloading day and night. All units at grassroots level have comprehensively carried out market development, deepened the exploration and visit of competitive regions in the hinterland, increased the competition for strategic and brand goods, and improved the effectiveness of market development work. Monthly bulk cargo such as iron ore and laterite nickel ore has achieved stable growth, fertilizer unloading volume has reached a new high within the year, and the supply of bauxite has been effectively restored.

According to statistics from the Production Department of the Port Group, the production performance report for September is impressive: the efficiency of roll on/roll off operations has reached a new high, Dongfang Company has set a new record for exporting 340 roll on/roll off vehicles per hour, and the Ma Yao operation area has unloaded 60 tons of overweight steel billets for the first time, effectively improving the capacity of bulk cargo operations. The Xugou East operating area has broken the record for day and night loading for several times, with the highest day and night loading volume reaching 672 vehicles. In addition, Guanhe Dockland has also launched the first foreign trade import wood unloading business.

On the basis of successfully completing the chronological progress in the first nine months, during the Mid-autumn Festival and National Day holidays, the Port Group fully utilized the excellent tradition of "celebrating festivals inside and working energetically outside", demonstrating the important node role of the port in the industrial chain and the supply chain through hard work, innovation and struggling ahead. Next, Lianyungang Port will continue to do a good job in railway shipping, strengthen resource coordination and internal collaboration, and alleviate the imbalance of loading capacity. It will continuously increase market development efforts, strengthen economic situation analysis and market dynamics tracking, do a good job in tracking and arranging goods sources, formulate targeted development strategies, and strive to achieve monthly breakdown indicators.
