Foreign trade is the barometer of economic development, and the prosperity of foreign trade leads to the prosperity of the economy. On December 15th, Lianyungang Customs held a press conference to release the import and export situation of foreign trade in Lianyungang City in the first 11 months of this year, as well as the relevant work of Lianyungang Customs in promoting stable growth of foreign trade based on its functions. Data shows that in the first 11 months, our city’s import and export volume amounted to 122.92 billion yuan, exceeding the scale of last year.

According to customs statistics, from January to November this year, the city’s foreign trade import and export volume amounted to 122.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.3%, and the scale of import and export exceeded that of last year. Among them, imports amounted to 90.77 billion yuan, an increase of 51.5%. In November, the city’s foreign trade import and export volume reached 16.05 billion yuan, an increase of 49.3%, breaking the monthly import and export record for the fourth consecutive month. Specifically, the proportion of general trade imports and exports has significantly increased. In the first 11 months, the city’s general trade import and export amounted to 94.97 billion yuan, an increase of 52.1%, accounting for 77.3% of the total import and export value, an increase of 12.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year. In addition, the city has achieved growth in its major trading partners. In the first 11 months, our city’s imports and exports to Russia, the United States, ASEAN and Brazil were 20.99 billion yuan, 17.67 billion yuan, 16.57 billion yuan and 8.32 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 130.1%, 7.6%, 6.1% and 21.6%, accounting for a total of 51.7% of the city’s foreign trade imports and exports.

Since the beginning of this year, Lianyungang Customs has based on its customs functions, focusing on the construction of land-sea intermodal transportation hubs, industrial chain clustering and the development of new business models, to more efficiently ensure port clearance and help market entities overcome difficulties to the greatest extent possible. As a key industry in the city, the Lianyungang Customs actively connects and serves the construction of Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base. The “tailor-made” credit cultivation program helps enterprises fully enjoy the benefits of AEO policies and guides Jiangsu Xinhai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. to pass AEO advanced certification. “One enterprise, one policy” helps key enterprises overcome bottlenecks in declaration, tax payment, logistics and other links, achieving seamless connection between customs supervision and cargo transportation, ensuring the rapid clearance of urgently needed raw materials in the petrochemical industry, and providing strong support for the development of Lianyungang Petrochemical Industry Base.

At the same time, in the face of the booming new forms of cross-border e-commerce, Lianyungang Customs actively promotes the “list release, statistics summary” model for cross-border e-commerce retail exports, giving priority to the inspection of B2B cross-border e-commerce export goods and encouraging enterprises to use various warehousing facilities to expand imports. They promote the application of barcode for imported goods, implement a promotion reporting system, and promote the rapid and orderly development of the cross-border e-commerce ecosystem.
